Who lines up alongside Tim Ream is perhaps the only other selection dilemma for Silva but Issa Diop is making his job a lot easier with some fine displays, the latest of which came against Everton last weekend. A change in formation to a wing-back system is a slim possibility given the magnitude of the fixture but Silva resisted doing so in fixtures against other big-six sides this season and indeed when the Cottagers met City in the FA Cup earlier this year, so we're again expecting to see the 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 at the Etihad. The fit-again Kenny Tete and Harry Wilson are like-for-like replacements down the right flank for the pair, with loanee Dan James also an alternative in Kebano's stead but likely now behind Wilson in the pecking order out wide. Latest News: Marco Silva will be forced into at least two changes this weekend, as Bobby DeCordova-Reid is banned for yellow card accumulation and Neeskens Kebano is set for "several months" out after rupturing his Achilles. Mads Roerslev and Canos are the right wing-back options if Frank goes with a 3-5-2, meanwhile. Norgaard hasn't featured since August so even if he does make the squad, bench duty perhaps beckons at first. Josh Dasilva had one of his better performances in last week's otherwise unremarkable draw with Wolves, so may see off the challenges of Frank Onyeka, Shandon Baptiste and Damsgaard to line up alongside ever-present starter Jensen and Norgaard placeholder Vitaly Janelt in midfield. That will allow one of Keane Lewis-Potter, Mikkel Damsgaard or Sergi Canos a recall to the starting XI if Thomas Frank goes with a 4-3-3, although the use of a 3-5-2 would likely mean that Wissa would simply be used in a front two with Bryan Mbeumo. There'll be at least one change to the starting XI given that Toney is out, the smart money being on a run-out up top for Yoane Wissa. The good news is that Mathias Jensen has recovered from the dead leg he suffered in the draw with Wolves, while even Christian Norgaard (Achilles) could be back from a two-month lay-off after a recent return to the training ground. The 25 year old was added to the Mariners 40-man roster this winter to avoid a rule-5 draft selection, and has a great shot at slotting in the big league pen as a ground ball and righty-snuffing specialist.Latest News: Ivan Toney is suspended for the trip to Nottingham Forest, while Aaron Hickey (ankle), Thomas Strakosha (ankle) and Pontus Jansson (hamstring) are all set to be out until after the World Cup break. Mills has been fairly impressive at nearly every level, which includes multiple stretches at AA-Arkansas and a stint with USA Baseball. There’s only bits and pieces of Mills throwing in the past year or so online, but the former third round pick from 2017 has long been seen as on the cusp of the big leagues, and at last he’s punched his ticket. The move creates a space instead for an extra bullpen arm, and a possible big league debut for sidearming Gonzaga product RHP Wyatt Mills. Nottingham’s jettisoning comes on the heels of a far more vital 48 hours from both of Seattle’s backstops at the dish, and with multiple 1Bs on the roster there’s understandably little need for him. It’s the end of an era, as the Mariners have designated C/1B Jacob Nottingham for assignment a few days after claiming him on waivers, just one day after activating him.
